I see posts, generally, 05-08 with rusted frame issues. Are the brand new models still terrible for this or is Toyota using better coating for the frames?

You mean that's not included in the $30-35k price tag?

I have seen posts on Fluid Film and Amsoil MPHD. Any recommendations on what to use? I live in Missouri...in winter time I use touchless car wash with the undercarriage blast to try and keep the salt off

I believe the real difference is Dana made the frames through 2008. 2009+ is a different company.

Correct, info I have read in other threads is the effected "rusting" frames were dipped at an angle leaving an air pocket inside the tubes of the frame.

Toyota has spent millions buying back, swapping frames you think they aren't research the issues? I wouldn't be surprised if they had a whole department to just deal with this issue.

I have done a few earlier tacoma frame swaps and I can tell you, toyota takes care of there customers. Do not stress to much about rust, if my 2010 rusts out im confident toyota will take care of me.

That doesn't mean I dont do preventative maintenance, fluid film before every snowy season

My 2011's frame looks beautiful. Not a spec of rust on it. Hopefully it stays that way! I'm sure time will tell, since at this point it's only a 3 year old truck.
