Never had a problem with this dealer until recently. I'm considering a letter to Corporate, but I wanted to see how you folks dealt with dealer problems. Did a search, but circumstances are different or dated. Wanted to get a fresh perspective.

Problem, 2011 Taco radio would go off & on on their own. Took truck in, they ordered radio. Called me for an appointment and dropped truck off. About 45 minutes later, I get a call that they ordered the wrong radio. I pick up the truck and few weeks later, they call me for new appointment. I drop the truck off, and 2 hours later it's ready. New Radio was in, but I find a big gash in the dash. Service manager apologized and they offered to repair. Few weeks later drop the truck off at the dealer. When I pick it up, I was amazed to see they attempted to buff and sand the Vinyl. Was now a big dull spot. They said chemical treatment would take a few days and would blend in. What crap, I told him on the spot I wanted a replacement. Few weeks later, they call for a replacement. They install new dash, but cracked the radio trim and gouge another part of the dash. Service manager apologized again and said he would order parts. Going on 3 months and nothing.

I've tried talking with service manager and all I get are apologies and excuses for their rookie service department. I've own 3 Toyotas and bought 2 of them new from this dealer. I'm thinking of writing two letters, one to the Dealer owner, and one to Corporate Toyota. Thoughts?

. I work damn hard for my money. We've bought 4 toys at local dealership. When I got my truck tbere were only 2 on the lot. Long bed black and sb white. I went with white since I don't like black in hot ass Texas and they wanted 1700$ for one ft of bed.
Anyhow I saw a scratch on inside driver door next to window. I didn't say anything at all throughout the whole day of fkn negotiations. Until it was time to sign. Did a once over and saw the scratch. Was told to bring it back and they'll fix it.
I know it'll eventually get scratched there but I'd rather do the scratching.
I told them I'm not bringing back a new truck. Come down on price or something.
Salesman came back with a big fat free oil and filter change book. He asked if that'll work. I said yea and a couple of camo bball caps. Done deal.

A letter to managers or a visit I think would be more helpful. Keep going up the food chain. Good luck.

What is there to write Corp about? They ( regardless of how inept ) are trying to make you happy...

A letter to the General Manager of the dealership may be in order.

I can't let the wife know
Yes I would. They are supposed to be the professionals. They should have all the tools to remove trim correctly. Replacing a radio is not a hard task. Lucky for you, you're able to inspect the area they worked on. What if it was an internal part or a location that's hard to view. They are doing shaddy work / repairs. By you writting a letter they can have something on file of customers complaining. It could help out some of their employees to get the proper tranning or hire only techs that have had the proper tranning. It's a business they are running, and we should let them know when a customer isn't happy.

Walk by one of there new 40,000 vehicles with your keys in your hand and say sorry, I didn't mean to do that. Tell them the 6' scratch will go away when the sun comes out.
They want to play games and fuck us, we can play games just the same. It's not just Toyota dealers, it's the half ass service you generally receive everywhere. From contractors in your home to waiters serving you at the restaurant. This shit gets old after a while. There is some good service out there, but there is just as much f'd up service in the world. They owe you a new dash and anything else they messed up.
Good luck. Sorry, just ranting again. Good luck.

OP: is there another dealer nearby you can have do the work opposed to the one who continues to make errors?

Right. Just let them vandalize your truck and tell them thanks. Something dealers do way to often.
