I tell you, it is loud at first, but it starts to get quieter as you put miles on. I almost pulled mine off right after getting it, as there was a loud drone in the back seat. It has gotten deeper sounding, and I really like it now. Takes literally 20 minutes to install!!!

Its loud inside the cab. About 6k miles later I still find it as loud as day one. Don't get me wrong, I like it.. but in your case I think you should stick with stock exhaust.

Not sure how it is going to be with the intake. But in an automatic you should be ok. If you don't hammer it when you drive.

Its not loud enough to bother neighbors unless you really step on it every time you take off and if that is the case, they will be pissed off because of your driving habits not the exhaust.

Didn't know exhaust were exclusive to V8 Sports car....

It sounds like you want it quiet in the cab. If so, dont get it. Its got some noticeable drone inside the cab. It doesn't add power. Keep yours stock and add the TRD tip or a chrome tip.

If you don't want loud why even consider putting on a loud exhaust?

It's easy to put on. 4 rubber hangers and 2 bolts. Be sure and get a new exhaust gasket.

I barely even notice mine anymore....only had it installed since July.

I love mine. Gives my engine the perfect purr. It's not that loud to me. Just loud enough. I wouldn't want it any quieter. I haven't experienced any drone.

I'm on the fence with this as well, almost every truck I've modified the exhaust on, I absolutely regretted it shortly there after.

I've heard more than a few 2nd gens with the OE TRD exhaust, and outside it sounds very nice, not obnoxious or boy racer at all.

However, I use my Bluetooth hands free quite often, which becomes useless when you have exhaust drone inside the cabin. Those of you with the OE TRD exhaust, can you still make a hands free call inside the cabin, and not feel like you are talking over the exhaust noise?

^^ I'm with Pool Runner on this and have mixed emotions. On one hand it is kind of cool but on the other hand, on a 6-speed, it seems to fool me into thinking the engine is turning much faster than it is, IDK how to explain it any better but I find this a bit annoying. It kind of tough using the Bluetooth as well.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
I added one when installing my TRD supercharger. The TRD exhaust adds about 10-15 extra ponies.

The noise it makes is very annoying in city driving, especially if you have your windows open. Of course if you are a person that likes listening to an exhaust pipe sound then excuse me... but I like my stereo better.

On the freeway it sounds the same to me as before. Pretty quiet.

The sound is not near loud enough to bother your neighbors. But forget about sneaking up on a Taliban encampment if you have one. Darn.

So, I have no buyers remorse since my SC makes plenty of noises itself way beyond the exhaust sounds, and I was going for a performance boost. And mission accomplished in that regard.

Bottom line: it's probably the most cost effective performance upgrade you can do for your Tacoma. Easy DIY install, takes under 1 hour. Not a lot of $$$ to purchase it. And it does add extra HP, but probably not enough to be noticeable on its own. And although the sound in city driving is annoying, I've compensated by turning up the stereo :)
