Black Sand Pearl

At first I was a little pissed. Dealer told me the truck they were getting in for me was Black. When I saw it it looked blue.

I've grown to like the color but haven't seen too many Taco's the same color. Is it rare or am I just not seeing them?

I've been thinking about getting a topper put on the bed of the truck but I'm dreading the thought of someone trying to match it up with the truck.

 

I think your just not seeing them, i see plenty where i am at.

black sand pearl does look a little blue after a good wax.
All the second gen tacomas 05 on have black sand pearl.
Shouldnt be a problem finding a top.

exactly!!!

Mine is almost like a dark blue with a lot of metallic flakes in it. At times it looks "almost" black but for the most part it looks blue.

Why can't they just call it dark metallic pearl blue?

Hard to tell from that photo.

I will say after having had three Toyota trucks, the last two of which were metallic colors, BSP (2000) and my current 2009 MGM, the black and the MGM both are a bit chameleon in appearance, depending on the time of day, outside conditions, clean or dirty, position of the sun...

 

Here's my '07 BSP.....It does funky things in the sun.

 

BSP is Black.
Mine's been known to look a little green in the right light tho

That's one of the reasons I got Magnetic Grey Metallic...

 

Kinda hard to see in these pics, but the ARE cover on mine seems to match perfectly.
