I have a 2007 TRD double cab 4x4, bought it new with 5 miles in it. All oil changes have been done on time, and at 36,000 changed to synthetic oil. Has had 30k and 60k services, now has 87,000 on it. Just wondering what the number of miles I can expect to get out of it, before it starts to cost more than it's worth.
    Thanks

If I could predict that I'd use the ability on the lottery.

Search these threads for high mileage records and you'll see some of the members report many many hundred's of thousands of miles. It depends on your care to the vehicle , a little luck and what/when you consider how much dependability and spending money you want.

I consider the Tacos very reliable and with a good track record. When I was a youngster, it was rare for the average person to keep a vehicle more that 80K to 120K MAx (I am dating myself here. you could get a junk to fix up for about $600 dollars !). Today the engines will usually outlast all but the owner that just can't afford to keep up the rest of the vehicle's maintenance - since the maintenance cost do continue to rise higher each year with time.

I'm not planning on putting high mileage on mine but I expect it to go 15 years, hopefully ....

200,000 easily with no problems. Tacoma's have been bulletproof since their introduction

for what it's worth, i have a 07 dcsb trd sr5 4x4. it's got the auto tranny, and 134,000 miles. runs like a top! i went and test drove a 2013 (just like mine) with 18,000 miles and a 2010 with 65,000 miles. honestly the 07 rode better, drove better, and i could not tell any difference in power between any of them.

my truck has some sort of lift (previous owner installed) 285/70/17's and i'm very happy. my good friend has a 05 dc 4x4 and it has over 210,000 miles and it runs perfectly also.

i don't think miles means much anymore, it's more about the preventive maintenance of the vehicle. i got all the service records from new with my truck.

I disagree. You'd be lucky to get half a bazillion.
