It is a settlement for a class action lawsuit about reduced vehicle value from the uninteneded acceleration recall. Most of us should be getting one. Just cash it and ignore it.

Some legal types made a bazillion on this & in the process they force Toyota to pay us all $37.

Or something pitiful. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know because my check hasn't come, but I read it was a pittance.

I spent $31k on a truck that might "decide" to kill me, and I get no warm and fuzzy feeling over this maneuver. I want Toyota to spend those millions on a real solution.

Instead the system just dissipates their resources to do just that.

(Still don't expect me to send back the $37... )

Probably varies by year of vehicle.

I think they identified the floor matts as the root cause, they fixed it in my truck as they are attached now and it states that you should not stack floor mats...also part of the maintenance schedule to check them every 5k...so I think that's fixed

Light bar and bumper guard, 3/16 steel skid plates for engine, tranny and transfer box, OME 881 springs with 5100 shocks at mid clip. AAL in rear. Positraction rear diff.
One of the final fixes was to tie the brake to the accelerator so if the vehicle accelerates on it's own you can hit the brake to put it back to an idle condition while the brake is on. There may have been other fixes too. I don't know what year this started with or if it is being done to older Toyotas.
