might be legal, def not acceptable. a daily driver is just a tool. if you give them a screwdriver and they hand you a wrench, its not going to work. lot of us use our trucks several times a week (or day) for tasks purposed for a truck all year long.

in my case i pointed this out to ford and was given an F150 for the month. its just them trying to get away with it. people like you accept it though without question :)

i had the prius for about a month. i fought with them on multiple occasions and they said that is all they could give me based on what Toyota gives them for an allowance, and since i didn't buy the truck from them they don't really see me as one of their valued customers i guess. eventually i went in pretty hot headed and got them to get me into a rav4 4wd with the dealership fronting the bill through Enterprise rentals. i've had it for a couple weeks now and i'm happy. can't wait to get my truck back and can't believe it is taking this long.

i'm so jealous my friend. they said once they get the frame it will only take a couple of days - the weighting time is the actual frame production and delivery. did they replace your leaf springs as well?

Leaf springs were not replaced and I have a feeling it was because I told them I had a spring shop in town add a leaf and re arch them to be level. They most likely didn't want to mess with it. I did get new brake lines, hardware and lower control arms.

good luck to you. i'd suggest asking to hold onto your truck until they get the frame in. i signed something that makes them liable for it before i realized they would have it for so long.

well its just going for an inspection so we'll see what happens because I wire wheeled the frame and treated it with POR15

Yeah, I try not to be a PITA customer since I worked retail for three years myself, but they'd have to give me something somewhat comparable.

I'm not driving something like that on rural roads in the winter. I'm sure it's only got all seasons on it, making it worse. I have a 4WD truck with snow tires on it for a reason--so I can go anywhere any time with no worries. I can see over other cars and have something big enough to take a hit from someone who does not know how to drive or properly equip their vehicle for winter.

If it's all they could do, I'd tell them keep the Prius and I'll rent a truck out of pocket. I'd be getting a new frame and everything out of the deal, so it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I'm pretty sure our dealer's loaners are mostly Rav4s though.

i know what you're saying. the rav is pretty nice. 4wd, and actually has some good tires on it. the prius had bald all weathers on it and it has already snowed a lot in cleveland so far this winter - no way in hell i was going to keep driving that thing.

I only have a couple more days before my inspection expires and now I get no response from the dealer! First they said they would give me a rental but now they have to wait for all the parts to come in - right after they said they had a customer in a rental for over 3 months! Seriously Toyota this not a good way to keep loyal customers!

Im from Southern New Jersey and I am getting a new frame. From the way it looks, my truck is #13 in line, so I should be in a rental until about February 2015. BTW Toyota is renting a Ford F250 for me.

I bought a used 09 Tacoma in GA that came from NJ. It spent a few years up there so is there some way of knowing if mine could be on that recall list??
