$330 right now for black but will be $220 when back in stock on Amazon. Still pretty rough price when I can pick them up for $100. The one benefit I see with these over the others is that it comes with a custom in-dash switch. The setup AL W has is wired to the turn signal knob and you can select which position will turn on the lights. But it looks like you have to choose between having the LEDs on with the stock running lights or with the knob in the off position.

The switch would come in handy if I wanted to run the lights in different combinations. Maybe headlights on and LEDs on, Running lights and LEDs, or OFF with just LEDs.

    Trey,

You can buy Tacoma switches that will fit just above the fuse box location I used. You can still use the same fuse but just run the power through the switch to turn the DRLs on and off.

Nice. I'll look into that as well.

back from the dead - been looking at installing this for while on my 2014. after watching the vid of pulling the dash i'm thinking its not worth it.

my thoughts are to simply replace the trim piece with the lights and tap into the existing DTRL wiring under the hood and allow them to switch on/off same as the existing DTRL. anyone have wiring info for tying into existing DTRL circuit?

    Dick,
I tried using the control wire for the DRLs but didn't achieve the result I thought I would. I wired my aftermarket DRLs to the control wire of the factory lights thinking that if I switched to the factory lights my aftermarket lights would turn OFF. Didn't work they both stayed on. I'm not sure how the factory DRLs are wired through the factory switch on the stalk but I would recommend using a separate switch on the dashboard to control the aftermarket lights. If you send me an e-mail to alw186@yahoo.com I can send you a copy of the Powerpoint I made showing my install.

    Regards,
    AL

My do-it-yourself daytime running light for my Tacoma 2015. Bought the bulbs at Amazon, completed the project and saved hundreds of dollars.
