Don't know about a bull bar might want to look at reviews at bull bars before purchasing one. In most accident they seemed to cause more front end damage to the truck that they were on than they helped. Look into plate bumpers

Yeah I was just in shock when it all happened like a bad dream! I just had gotten the truck and its like your worst nightmare. And yeah you're right. Even though theres some messed up people out there you can't put a truck over somebody's life. I'm going tomorrow to see what my insurance says.

Yeah definitely will look into plate bumpers! And I wasn't thinking about putting a bull bar in the back lol. I got a westin in the front but it would make sense that they do more damage since they're usually attached to the frame and same with the tow hitches.

Day I got my truck I was on the freeway at night on the off ramp and saw some headlights approaching quick in my rear view. There were a line of cars in front of me so there wasn't much I could do I heard them lock up their brakes and their tires screeching. I gassed it into the emergency lane and luckily I did because they didn't come to a complete stop until their passenger window was at my drivers window.

But hope you get it all worked out

I was rear ended recently as well, same situation but my 2013 was parked at a pizza place. Luckily whoever hit me was in something that sat really high as only my tailgate was damaged. The damage ended up totaling around $1,300, new tailgate with paint and labor.

I know your pain man, good luck with the repair.

Getting rear ended sucks, I have been rear ended 9 times now over the years. Including last May in my Tacoma when I was stopped in traffic on the freeway. That accident caused about $3400 in damage, the other driver swerved and submarined my rear bumper on the RH side. Which bent the bumper back into the right bedside. Though the body shop was able to straighten the bedside and I now have a plate bumper on the truck.

Now I just need to sort out a rear camera/dvr, the guy who hit me blamed me for the accident and his insurance refused to cover my repairs. It is going through arbitration now, but my insurance paid to repair the truck. On the plus side, the Honda Odyssey that hit me was totaled.

Yeah I'm guessing the tailgates aren't cheap. The only good thing was my backup camera survived it all. Thanks man.

Sorry man 9 times does suck. And I'm glad my backup camera was fine. But in the long run when people do wrong it catches back up to them.
