i cant seem to find a descent, black, low profile AND thin box for the DC thats descent price as well. i think i've pretty much got something else in mind. its portable so i can take it out whenever, lockable for obvious reasons, and locks to the mounting brackets from the inside for obvious reasons as well. i was thinking about getting one and painting it black and throwing it back there...what do u guys think??

    Chest Linky!!!

i'd prefer something that like 1-1/2" over the rail so i could have some space under the box...unless i had to go for a chest type

hey man i jus put a chest on my taco. i didnt get the low pro. mines a UWS black box and its over the rail. still got PLENTY of space underneath the box for stuff to slide in. probably a foot of room under mine. an i agree with greenbean painting that other box will prolly bring trouble. i painted one and all it did was chip and peel if you ever touched it with anything.

These are kind of pricey, but they are lightweight and easily removed. The "J" bolts fit the track in the bed perfectly. You may have already seen them.

I just came across these tool boxes. http://www.uwsta.com/blue_slim_line.html They seemed like a pretty good fit for me as I want to keep some of the extra things out of the cab but I also want to keep the bed pretty open. It looks like it will extend away from the cab about 11 inches into the bed and 5" below the top of the bed. It is a no drill installation, installed the J-hooks. I called around and I was able to find a black powder coated one for $170 installed.
