Bed outlet always on?

I've looked around the mod threads, but didn't see anything. Is there a how to or is it possible to mod the bed outlet to have constant power?? I would greatly appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

So this will keep power going constantly to the outlet in the bed? I thought this was only for power inside the cab....

I'll be the first to admit I'm a dumbass, but none of the linked threads mention anything about the power outlet in the bed of the truck. They only mention the cigarette lighter and the power outlet in the dash will have constant power once you do this mod. I could care less about the recepticles in the cab, but I do want to make sure that I can get constant power to the outlet in the bed.

 

i may have linked you the wrong thing then. Just keep looking in the cheap tricks section. If you can't find it, you can always find the 12v power source to the inverter under the center console, cut those, and wire them straight to the battery. All in all, i would not suggest doing this because it will eat your battery up quick. If you had a double battery set up, maybe...

no prob. The inverter our trucks come with is pretty weak anyways. good for charging things and the occasional powertool. Definitely not worthy of banking on powering anything during a tailgate party or something.

 

I just thought it would be nice to keep a work light in the back since I have a cover on it. It makes it tough to see under there at night and I figured if I could just flip a switch on a light plugged in to the outlet, I would be good to go.

 

plenty of ways to get 12v bed lights under there. Plus it would be easy to run 12v to the bed straight from the battery. I added a cig lighter outlet in my bed thats always on. Just search for bed lights.

 

I've read all of those. That's why I posted this thread. I didn't know if it was possible so I guess I'll go back to looking at adding bed lights.
