    Hi,

I just got a Tacoma 4x4 V6 and am still getting used to it.

I noticed while in 4LO when I start to pick up speed (downhill) or give it some gas the I can hear a whirling noise. Doesn't sound bad but I'm not sure if that is normal so I just wanted to find out. Wasn't going very fast, off-road under 15mph.

I don't hear it in H2 or H4 of course.

    Thanks
    KN

Most likely just the sound of the low range gear reduction. Completely normal.

Sounds right to me. If you need to go faster, shift into H4.

IIRC, straight cut gears in low range. Hence the whine.
