IIRC my friend's T100 has a smaller, less powerful engine than the 4LV6 in the gen 2.

I changed some things to try and make the configurations more comparable, and added the Gen1 Tundra. I didn't consider the Gen2 Taco as a successor to the T100, thought it was more of a Gen1 Tundra, but I see the T100 is a good comparison.

The reason I was thinking of a Gen1 Tundra is because the Tundra Access Cab is somewhat comparable to a Tacoma DCLB because the Tundra AC rear seats are 60/40 foldup bench, comfortably well-padded with armrest and decent legroom. As opposed to the Tacoma Access Cab with no comfort at all. Also, the 79.3 inch width on the Gen1 Tundra is with fender flares, base models without flares are 75.5 inches width.

Which begs the question if the Gen3 Tacoma will change dimensions at all. Doubtful, they have a nice market niche with the size as is. Definitely a better motor, I wonder how the 4.6l V8 would do. Probably update those 1980's era Access Cab rear seats, get the cabin a little quieter, fix that driveline shudder, maybe a power rear slider, locking glovebox and tailgate, dual-zone climate control, heated mirrors/seats, little things.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
They weigh more than that I'm pretty sure. Think mine weighed around 4500 last time I was on a scale.

My prequil red 1989 stock ride height 2WD has lower body lines than my 2008 with a 3/4 drop :frusty:

While I do appreciate the more leg room and the fact that I can actually recline the seat in a standard cab it is a tighter fit in my garage.

I need to get my grey 1994 back on the road.

Yeah, the manufacturer curb weights are not real accurate. They're ok I think for comparison sake, though. For instance I weighed my 2012 Tacoma and my '05 Tundra on the same scale, both pretty much stock, Tacoma was about 4400, Tundra 4920.

So Toyota's published curb weights were not accurate for the actual weight, but WERE accurate for the approximate difference in weight between those two trucks.
