<Rant> Control Knobs

Just me biznitchin...I'm sick of the dash controls not having a dang backlight. AC, 4WD, Ugh!

 

My AC is backlit

 

get to know your truck better so you can Ray Charles that shit.

passenger window switches
the side mirror adjustment
Fog light on, should have an LED


I mean for crying out loud, why does the A-trac button get a back light, but the actual 4WD dial doesn't? Just saying, not mad just annoying.

 

i used to finger my old girl like that. the new one is still getting broken in.

but yeah, some shit could use gotten lit up.

 

Because if you're using your 4WD, more than likely you've got a bunch of lights everywhere already. There are write ups on how to light it.

 

You mean like in a stock 4x4 truck ?

 

You fuckin kids want it all these days. I remember when I learned to drive none of the knobs had a backlight. Bunch of pussies!

 

Most of these trucks won't see as much dirt as they think they will. You know that So what would the need be for being in 4X4.

 

I use 4x4 in snow more often than dirt , maybe that's why you can't buy a 2WD 6 lug in Canada

Should have got on TW sooner, there is a guy that used to sell lighted panels for the 4x4 switch. You may be able to still find one around. It's nice to see it lit but honestly it never bothered me.

Only time I use 4WD is when I get stuck. No need otherwise, and I've been in snow up to my hip or deeper.

 

Why is it so much to ask in a $35K truck? If it were $15K I see your point. The TRD-Pro is almost $40K and has no backlit, 4WD switch, mirror switch, or window switches for the passenger glass. Sorry but that is just an asinine oversight by Toyota.

I don't care if I never use it, it should be backlit anyway.

Yea, I was putting emphasis on your post. The flyzeye is pretty cool!! They make them for the glovebox and center console too!

 

Yeah , but I meant the AC control is backlit stock , so did they discontinue that in the OP's 2015 ?
