So about six months ago I rode my 2005 Toyota Tacoma I bought a new cab and rebuilt it today when I went to start the truck after putting all of the wiring and ignition back in the truck would turn over but not start I can't hear the fuel pump run when I turn the key and the rear Differential locker light is on I do not have a rear differential locker.....any ideas or suggestions would help a lot of time invested in the truck already and I'm just itching to have re back on the road.

    Thanks in advance guys,
    Scott

If you have an obd reader check to see for codes. That way at least if there are codes it will lead you in the right direction.

Does the security indicator light go off when you put the key in? If the light stops flashing then it's not your immobilizer.

i called the dealership today and left a message no return call yet. i dont know to much about this stuff this is the first big project ive taken on like this but it seemed pretty straight forward each plug only fits one spot and all of them were plugged in just wondering if anything had to be reset or something no obd reader tho also i used the ignition from the replacement cab so id have the same key as my doors i dont think that would effect it tho

It will only turn over in park and neutral. Check for fuel and spark. Narrow it down a little.

Which engine ECU did you use? The original, or with the donor cab? What about the security ECU? They have to be programmed to match, if the engine ECU doesn't see the signal from the security ECU that it was programmed for, its going to crank all day and never start. If you can, keep it simple and use both from your original truck, not the donor, along with the original transponder key(s).

I used everything of mine except for the ignition I guess I could just go back to using magnets and have multiple keys one for the door and one for the ignition. I'll try it tomorrow

so today i put my old ignition in and still no go also the security light does stay flashing i said it didnt last night but obviously i was wrong i went and rented an obd II tool and the code read b2799 which has to do with a faulty key, Faulty transponder key amplifier, Faulty transponder key ECU assembly, transponder key amplifier wire harness. i think maybe it needs reset since i tried to use a different ignition and key than what the ecu recognizes any ideas?

That's definitely your problem. If the security light is blinking it means that the key is not recognized. Try registering it as fallows:

    (1) Before operation, make sure that no key is in the ignition key cylinder.
    (2) Connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
    (3) Insert a key, of which the key code has already been registered, into the ignition key cylinder.
    (4) Turn the ignition switch ON (do not start the engine) and leave it as is for 30 minutes.
    (5) Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect terminals TC and CG.
    (6) Check that the engine starts.

TC and CG are pins 13 and 4 at the DLC3 plug. (search google for the layout)

It may take a couple tries but should remedy the flashing security light.

Let me know how it goes
