Disreguard previous. You are not suppose to run anything besides 91. I'm going to Toyota to have them do a full wet/dry compression test and document everything. The car runs great I don't think it caused damage but I don't care I want everything documented and checked.

If the engine was not pinging or knocking from the gas they put in it there is no damage. ;)

The taller-than-stock tire will cause your tripometer to read less-than-actual miles traveled. Are you compensating for this in your MPG calculation?

So the tune that came from Toyota for the super charger had the odometer to be recalculated in the tune.

I have the same size tires on my 2012 Tacoma with the TRD Supercharger. I only get about 13 to 14 MPG but most of my driving is in town and not on the interstate. Fortunately, I don't put a lot of miles on it or it would get a little expensive, especially with running premium fuel which it calls for. I don't really know if it makes a difference but I have only used premium fuel since it was installed. When I checked the odometer after the larger tires were installed, it was off by exactly 5% (Showing 60 mph is really 63 mph, showing 80 mph is really 84 mph, etc.).

Well I got 15 MPG on this last tank. So my Odometer thinks I traveled 250 miles but I really traveled 280 - 290 so I got around 16-17 mpg.

In stock condition, the 4.0-liter V-6 produces 236 hp and 266 pounds-feet of torque. With the TRD supercharger, output increases to 304 hp and 334 pounds-feet of torque. So roughly 60 extra hp and ft-lbs of torque, which works out to a 25% increase. Nothing to sneeze at. It doesn't make the Tacoma a race truck but if you get in a non supercharged Tacoma you instantly notice the loss of power over a supercharged truck.

I believe that when you run 87 in a S/C Tacoma the engine senses the change and goes into a limp mode. This is fairly common on factory supercharged/turbocharged vehicles. It could be why your MPG's suck. I regularly get about 18 MPG mixed driving.

    Getting there...
And the engine still has to run the supercharger. So that's x amount of HP taken away to drive the supercharger which is now not doing much due to the lower octane rating and adjusting to hopefully not destroy your engine.

OP should remove the battery ground and pump the brakes once he has 91 in the tank. From the sound of it this truck has ran 87 for a while with the supercharger and it'll need to relearn life on 91.

^truth. You need to either use a resistor or a custom reprogrammer to get the speedo to read correctly. 90% of people just live with the difference.
