Get ready to spend a lot of money on suspension and other miscellaneous mods if you frequent the site a lot. God knows it happened to me. XD

Weird. Most of the Tacomas I see are DCSBs so that's an odd option to leave out.

    I'll keep my DCLB anyway.

I got the TRD sport. They only offer base, sr5, and TRD off-road in the access cab in Canada. I've been doing a little reading into the options as it sounds like it's going to be a tough little truck off road. I can't wait to get it.

Yep, I'm already looking at the pop and lock tailgate auto lock with the codeable lock, factory stereo upgrade, and the TRD performance exhaust. I was looking at a few other things but I'm not sure what I'll be looking at getting first. This is the first real 4X4 I've owned so I'm very new at all this stuff. The closest I've been to off roading is taking my old 97 CRV a few hundred meters off the trail down to the water, lol. This is gonna be fun!

Sorry for not replying quicker but it's been a busy couple days trying to get stuff organized and finding rides to and from work until my new taco arrives.

    Cheers

I got the auto. That was a huge decision fr me to make though. I really wanted the double cab short box but they only came in manual and I've been driving manuals for 20 years and it was time for a more relaxed drive, lol. I'm supposed to get it around the 22nd of this month!!!

Yep, the TRD off road comes with everything the SR5 does (oil, tranny coolers and larger alternator, ect plus more!!! I saw one this weekend with the black beadlock TRD wheels and am a little upset I didn't get the pro package but all the pro package includes in Canada is the exhaust, wheels, running boards, sticker, and wallet. I figured i'de save myself the $2700 considering all I want are the wheels and exhaust. I can do without the sticker and wallet and I want to get a se of rock sliders instead of the running boards anyways. I'm hoping I can find the wheels at a good price before I get the vehicle and talk the dealership into changing the tires around for me before taking possession, lol.

oil, tranny coolers, larger alternator, larger battery, rear trailer plug are all part of the tow package, around here it is a $650.00 option package, on top of the SR5 or TRD package.

All the TRD's and I believe all the SR5's come with the tow package in Canada

I think it's just how Toyota sets up the Canadian trucks , I've never seen a 6 lug here without the tow receiver / tow package and there was no add or delete tow package option in the build and price at least when I bought my truck

The downshifting is only an issue while things are break-in in I believe. Mine did that at first and I was worried bit now with only 1300 miles it does not downshift early like it did when brand new.

Just picked it up last night! We drove over three hours in one of the worst snowstorms we've had in awhile but I got my truck!

The truck has been awesome so far but I noticed that the box sits way to far to the left. I'm going to call Toyota Canada when they open, I hope I don't have to go through any BS to get them to adjust it. The truck came with 5km on it so I'm guessing it was just made like that from the factory.

I just have to get it Krown rust proofed today and find some winter tires ASAP! The tires are great for accelerating but not so good for braking.

The truck shifts perfect, all my worries were for nothing. From the second I pulled off the lot it felt great. There must have been issues with the first truck I test drove.
