I could agree more. They had the temp/compass on the mirror since 2009, then they ditched it for 2014. They also removed some cubby bins from the box the same year.

    Interesting info.

I am 130 miles into my 2015 DCSB.

Overall things are going well, but I'm not thrilled with the buttons and control panel on the media center/radio. Kinda difficult either driving or parked. Took me a while to figure out how to change the time for daylight savings.

Congrats on the new blue beauty. I'm also enjoying my '14 TRD O/R 4x4. Does everything I need it to, without all the excess weight & size of a full-size truck...:)

I actually think the center console looks horrid on the GM trucks. Not saying that as a Tacoma fanboi, because the Taco could use help too. But really, those truck interiors just doesn't look good at all to me.

I abhor the gauge cluster on the new Collys/Canyons. Like looking into a tunnel.

Great review, and I can concur 100%. I have a 2015 Access Cab TRD Sport that I've had for less than a week. I am really liking it, and looking forward to having it this winter. It's a six-speed V6 (which you all probably have already figured out... ).

The noise level is more than tolerable, the ride is smooth (although you do know it's a truck) and the performance with the V6 is perfectly acceptable. Oddly, the truck tends to bog when starting out in first but I'm getting used to it. Other six-speed owners - I take it that's normal? The idle RPMs seem fine, but man... let the clutch out at around 2k and they drop like a rock.

Yes, there is auto-nothing for the mirror. Just an ordinary manual rear view mirror. I am bummed to hear that Toyota used to supply a better one. I looked through the accessories list at the dealer, and Toyota lists an autodimming mirror but no temp and no compass and no Homelink. Meh. I will be getting a mirror with Homelink and the other stuff; I too could use a link to a good one.

I got the impression with my Entune Plus system (which is less than the Entune Premium and the Entune Premium w/Nav) that the EQ on the different sound sources is unique, but the balance for the speakers is the same for each source. I think. I have to play with that some more.

The iPhone integration gave me problems at first - I paired the Bluetooth, and I could play music from the phone, but the "phone" part of it didn't work! LOL. I did the delete and re-add and that seems to have fixed it.

I have a Truxedo Lo Pro QT on order from Truck Alterations- Luke was good to deal with - and WeatherTech Digitals on the way. I also have some Clazzio two-tone on order, so we'll see how that goes since they warn you it will take 3 months to get. If I get them that'll be fine, but that's a ways out.

What else... hm. Have a URD short throw in the mail, they shipped it the day I ordered it... not used to that from specialty car vendors. I hope I get it installed before the weather gets too cold to play in the garage, but maybe not.

Overall, I've been really happy with the truck for the last four days, LOL! I've already read a lot on the forum - thanks to people for the write-ups on the Clazzios and the URD shifter (the TRD version is currently $540 from Toyota, forget that!) and I'm looking forward to more.

Great color! I love my '15 DCLB limited 4x4. I have about 4k miles now and I am very happy with my purchase. Solid and enjoyable vehicle.

Great review and welcome Op. Truck looks great in blue as well. I'm loving my '14 OffRoad, 4x4, DCSB.

My only complaint so far are the seats in the truck are giving me immense lower back pain by the end of the day. All this time I thought it was in my head, and the other day as a test, I swapped cars with my wife ('13 Subaru Outback) and no lower back pain after two days with the wife's car.

Right now I'm driving around like an old lady, with a couch pillow wedged between my lower back and the seat in the Tacoma, and I'm not in pain, but I'm not comfortable either. Looking for a solution soon.

Here are some day pics of the truck and of the door sill plates and the trimmed mud flaps.

I've had my 2015 TRD Sport DCSB for 6 days now, not long enough to be comfortable in traffic, but love the handling and power. If I had the option, I'd have preferred a mini truck like the old Datsun I had years ago. The size of this thing definitely cannot be described as midsize, but I'll get used to it. I bought the 4x2, as I intend to keep my rubber on the pavement at all times, an all around savings: initial price; fuel economy; and future maintenance.

Biggest complaint is about an optional running board. I got it for looks and utility, but sorry to say it is way inconvenient getting in and out, as it sticks out so much it scapes my leg. I got Weathertech Liners, generally happy with them, but they are not as form fitting as I'd expected. Still, they'll catch my spilled coffee very well but for the holes for the hold down pegs. As I do regularly spill my coffee, I might put some duck tape over those holes for the hell of it. Another complaint is the camera angle, which I expect is adjustable from inside the gate. As it is now, the camera shows quite a bit of the tailgate itself, taking up a full ¼ of the screen, not the intended view.

The tailgate will get a reinforcement panel, that's a given. It's so flimsy that I can't count on both latches to engage if I don't slam it hard. The cap will give it some heft and needed strength, as I do intend to use it as a truck.

I bought both a TracOne and an Extang Hard Trifold. Both are easy to install and take off, and were chosen with that in mind. THe Extang is high quality and looks damn good, but will need the Pop & Lock for security. I haven't installed that yet, but I got the electric version, which opens with the passenger doors. The TracOne is still in the box, but will be cut down to an inch above the roof rack, which I bought to protect the cab from sagging lumber. I got a bed mat, and see that it has a large TACOMA logo, which is nice. I'll be putting surplus D Rings under the bed bolts, and some on the sides. Never too many of those things.

The rear view mirror issue described in so many of the previous posts is not an issue for me, as I got the Entune Premium with Nav, which has temp, compass, and clock included. All that stuff is on smart phones anyway, but I couldn't resist the temptation. The turn signals on the exterior mirrors should have a rear facing signal as well as forward facing. This is an excellent opportunity for an aftermarket mod in my opinion.

My color choice was Barcelona Red Metallic, a rich color that will require extra care. I choose to use Carnuba more often rather than the longer lasting Polymer, which wouldn't show my color to full advantage.

Apparently there are no HD stations in my area so the temp mad traffic stuff don't work. Love the mirror though :)

I have a 14 DCSB 4x4 with 2794 miles on and and love it. I wish it came with an E-Locker in the rear end and a compass/temp in the mirror though. Mileage will improve (about 1.5 to 2.5 mpg), off the lot I got 17.6 mpg but after 600 or so miles it started improving and now it settled on 19.3 mpg in town. Welcome to the club.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
You only have 600 miles on it? Get some more on it and then come back to us, that's nothing. I drove my 2011 for about 5,000 miles before I was ready to review it. 600 miles ain't even broke in yet haha. Nice looking Tacoma though, love that color!

    Good review.

The quoted portion is the motherfuck of sites such as this. There is a ton a great info here; but if you are the kind of person who worries about shit, reading some of the horror stories will make you start questioning your choices and seeing / hearing problems where there probably are none.

I try to extrapolate the stuff I need and ignore the naysayers.

Mine 'forgets' my device with some regularity. Once a week, probably. The first time, I angrily reprogrammed everything. Then I got smarter and the next time, I just turned the truck off, which essentially makes the radio reset itself to the saved settings. Wait a few seconds, turn it back on, everything is in memory as it should be.
