Did you bed your brakes on your new truck?

I have read many articles on this process with bedding your brakes. Just wondering if anybody has done this on your new truck.

I'm kind of up in the air about doing this because I always had good brakes on my 98 taco and have 88,000 on the original pads.

Nope. never did that on any car.

 

Had new rear pads and rotors put on my ford van and noticed brakes were "soft". Did a variation of this and brakes are rock solid now. Physics..go figure.

 

Seeing as it doesn't necessarily benefit the manufacturer as far as accelerating wear and they still recommend it, I always tried to do it as a tech. The Bendix recommended bedding was a process that would be hard to do for any tech though. I do believe it helps quite a bit though, along with having a fresh rotor surface to go with the fresh pads.

 

Have you driven it for more than a few miles? If so it's done.
