My TRD Pro has the $650 tow package. If you don't believe me, I can show you the oil cooler, trans cooler, 7 pin plug, and hitch. They are out there, but trust me, I know how hard they are to find with the full tow package.

There's the have and the have not's! Like what's been posted before jealousy plays a big part of it me thinks! Everyone just needs to enjoy the Tacoma they have!! The stupid pissing matches with if its worth it to buy a Pro or not needs to stop! If someone wants one and can justify the cost etc then so be it!

Love the inferno red color but can't afford one, even if I could the TRD PRO won't be avaliable down here in Mexico

I second that! I have seen both set ups in person. For some reason Toyota did not build many Pros with the Factory Tow Package but they are out there (mine will be here about Dec 15th). Seems there are a few more being shipped now. Tacoma Tow can be had in two flavors, Factory Tow Package, or Port / Dealer Installed. The easiest check is to look at the trailer hook up. 4 pin is not the Factory Tow Package, 7 pin should be. Also every Port hitch I have seen hooks to the frame only and all Factory Tow Package 's I have seen also have a bracket that bolts to the two bolts in the step area of the stock bumper (under those two bump type plastic caps)

Factory Tow Package (msrp $650) Includes Class IV Hitch, 7 Pin Connector, HD Battery, HD Alternator, Engine Oil Cooler, Tranny Cooler (AT's only), and Factory Sway Control. (also has the wiring for an electric brake control stuffed up under the kick panel ready to go...not sure if this is on all Tacos but it is on the Factory Tow Package). Rated for 6400# Tow

Dealer / Port Installed: (msrp $550) Unknown class of hitch, 4 pin connector and rated to tow 3500#

For the $100 difference you get a lot! Granted, the provided coolers are pretty whimpy, but they are there.

I second that! And after cruising through the "how much have you spent on your taco thread" I'm amazed at the $$$$ folks throw at them...OK, I'm not as I have an old 69FJ 40 that has as much in it as my Pro will cost. Not sure what all the slams are about. No vehicle is necessarily better than another. My 40 was a bad ass state of the art rock crawler but that was 20+ years ago...now it is simply Old School. Yet I would bet there are very few Tacos on this board that could follow it in the really nasty stuff. Go to Baja quite a bit now, leave the 40 at home as it would get destroyed! Lots of Tacos and such that I go with are way better suited for Baja than my 40. Folks build or buy what they want to use as they intend...you can build a rock crawler to a point where it becomes a crappy street machine...a Raptor would be fun in the desert and suck in the rocks....FJ 80's make an awesome Expedition vehicle but take way to much time and patience to get into Rubicon Springs. We buy or build for what we plan to use a rig for or for what we like. These Forums are a great source of information (if you dig deep enough) but also have a lot of just plain crap comments...just saw a thread where I guy said See Ya to the Forum as he was tired of all the dissing that goes on. Sad thing that it has to be like that. Such is life I guess?

The Tacoma Pro has the same basic lift / suspension as the Taco Baja TX with the exception that it has a softer rate front spring. It has been said that the valving on the struts / shocks was also changed but have not seen any positive proof of that. Was hoping someone would post up the strut and rear shock part numbers for both the Baja and Pro to see if the rear shocks are the same part number but that has not happened yet.

Not sure about that. I had 3 dealers in the same price range. I did get another $300 knocked off by agreeing to take delivery on the 31st.
