Transmission overheating?

    I wouldnt say guesses .
    According to the OP , the trans went into limp mode. I beleive if the truck was scanned at the time he would have found a soft tcc code .This is why I beleive there is going to be a soft code stored when the temp light pops up and cleared when he re-starts the truck . If i were to guess , his relay valve is causing the trans to overheat which can be diagnosed with a pressure guage. Strictly mechanical issue as he didnt find any antifreeze in the coolant and no codes present. The relay valve is causing the transmission to overheat which is very common .Too bad the scan guage doesnt have the ability to record parameters
