I was looking at those, but a 4" or 6" block for the rear makes me cringe.

The 4" kit only comes with a 3" block and the 6" kit only comes with a 4" block. But yes better to just replace the leaf pack.

Hey man would you do me a favor. I'm looking at this lift I have OME dakars out back worth about 3.5 over stock. I'm running 3" revek blocks up front and I'm a little low in front. Would you measure your ground to fender hight so I can get an idea here the front will sit. I need to figure out if I'm going to need a 1" block in the rear or not. I'm running 33/12.50 general grabbers.

Thanks man. Your truck is awesome.

    I haven't seen mentioned anywhere:

Drop bracket lifts force a sacrifice of IFS skid plate. People should be aware of this if their truck will see anything beyond dirt roading. You will also gain breakover angle but have less running clearance than a truck with a 2-4" suspension lift without a drop bracket.

Rear blocks can potentially have a deleterious effect on leaf spring life and axle wrap.

Lifting this height will in many cases necessitate addressing the carrier bearing in some fashion. People should also fully cycle their suspension and check for adequate rear brake line length.

"Best" lift? It's very hard to determine a "best" item without specifying goals first. RCD's 4.5" option is fine for on-road and dirt-road use, however forces considerable sacrifices for other applications. Caveat emptor.

Does this type of lift add actual travel though? How much?

Looks good! But you say you've had all the best lifts, but I don't see Fox or King mid travel lifts on your list :p

BTW, I was out at Kaena today too with Konaborne. Pounding in all those little orange whiskers...

My cv's look fine to me (no fins touching) and my uni ball uca's provide great down travel at 3 inches on my Icons even without a diff drop..... Have you ever ran what your talking about??

Still prefer 2.5" CO lift. The dampening shits on any strut that is provided with these kits. I do ponder on a 4.5 inch kit and running 2" of preload on an ext travel 2.5" CO with an aftermarket UCA and a real leaf pack in the back. I bet with 35's it would be pretty darn capable. The only way I would run a DB.

Although, damn good looking truck OP.

These kits retain stock geometry so no. You need extended travel Coilovers (longer shocks) and UCA's before you see any gains in travel.

    Agreed.

The concerns about "tippy toes" only arise if you don't replace the upper control arms, and all I can say there is if you do a job half-assed, you get what you get.

Not throwing his name out there lol but waiulataco has the procomp DB lift with some extra umph from coil covers and has no down travel in his front lol. I love his truck and have done a lot of work to it. CVs are kinda steep too. I agree that db lifts are for street and dirt. This thread has made me decide to SAS when I get the chance

If I install the 4.5 rcd lift do anyone know what the overall height be from ground to top of cab? And will I fit in 6'6" parking structure? And with what size rims and tires?

My girlfriend runs 285/70R17 on 17x9's with her RCD lift. I didn't have to do any trimming on hers. I just removed the front mud flaps.
