Is the Entune Navigation system worth the upgrade?

I am going over the list of options that I want and I'm not sure if paying the extra $1,200 is worth it for the Entune Navigation. I've watched some Youtube videos and it seems to be slow and clunky. For those that have this option, do you use it/like it? Would you buy it again?

Its okay not great. Slow and clunky is accurate. So its $1200 to go from Entune plus to premium? It shouldn't be.

$1,265 to go from Entune (Base) to Nav. $585 to go from Plus to Nav.

In my opinion, vehicle nav systems are way overpriced. It's nice that they're integrated into the dash, but not worth it.

It's so much cheaper to either use your phone or just buy a GPS from a store. Plus it's much cheaper or even free to update the phone and store bought systems.

Ah got it. Yeah I'm not sure I would do it again. I mean it was nice to finance it but if I was a cash buyer I would get an aftermarket unit instead. Don't get me wrong it's not terrible and I do use it but it's just not responsive when typing

I don't regret not getting nav in my 14 but I do sometimes wish I went with the JBL. I didn't even bother listening to it when I spec'd my truck. I don't know cost differences with the JBL vs non.

Agree. I do like the clean look and one less cord hanging around. I did figure out if you type with a fingernail is works way better.

I like the entune system, but I would rather not have spent $1200.00 bucks for it. To me it's an expensive toy. The nav system is easy to use, the bluetooth works great with my iPhone, and the voice activation actually understands me about 90% of the time. Some of the apps require the use of cell phone data through the entune app, so make sure you turn the app off when not using them. The salesman that sold me the truck said he had a customer run up a huge data bill on his cell phone plan playing pandora on his entune.

The damn thing is dangerous to try to look at while driving. Parked, an iphone works better, so why have another one on the dash? The whole thing sucks anyway, right out in the glare of the sunshine you can't see shit. Only good for the backup camera, which again, you can't see with the glare. I made an eyebrow for it, but it looks like shit so I keep a newspaper to lay on the dashboard above it. Then there's the issue of voice recognition... I hate phone robots already, so why did I pay so much to have one in my truck?

Good point about the glare on the screen, I forgot to mention how annoying that is.

The same shit everyone else has.
Im happy with mine. Granted I bought a used Entunes/navigation radio for way less and installed it in my '11.

The navigation is great when we're out hunting and fishing where there is no cellular service.

2015 Sport AC. Entune Plus....love mine. Would buy again.

What I hate is the crappy sound system, not the head unit. Most likely will be spending another $1.4K for an amp, speakers and sub.

Its pricey for sure. But if you can swing it, go for it. Yeah you can always get one of those cheapo garmins that sticks with a tacky suction cup to the window, or use your 4 inch phone while running up your data, but both are no where near as nice as the navigation. I have the nav, I like it, but its a bit clunky compared to other OEM systems out there.

Also, its worth noting the stock speakers SUCK. Its like toyota hired some highschool kid to design their stock speaker systems. The JBL is worlds better ( though$).

I haven't had an entune system in either of my Toyotas. I use my phone all the time. But I am going to be buying a touch screen radio with nav for my truck. Just be neat to have. Plus the stock radio in my 11 sucks.
