Correct... (One of these days I will get out a relay and play with it so it ungrounds the unit when keyed 12+ is turned on making this mod not beep when the key is on and you lock the door.)

i think i'm going to do this...
question - should i try the passenger side? that way it will only beep when i lock the doors with the remote OR from the passenger side front door, correct? or would it beep only when locking doors w/the remote then?

    thanks!

A little confused on why you would want to go via the passenger door?

    My Set up:
Beeps anytime the Keyfob is locked or you use the Lock button inside the cab. (If would work the same if you tied into the lock wire in the passenger door. Unless I am not understanding what you are wanting to do?)

The beeper wouldn't know whether or not the fob was used instead of the door panel switch. It would beep with either. The beeper is getting it's power from the same source that's locking the door. If the door lock is getting power (locking), the beeper is sounding off.

It would be different with the unlock signal from the fob. The fob requires two pushes to unlock the passenger doors. So the first push, it wouldn't beep (the passenger lock isn't getting any power). The second push of the fob would activate the beeper, since the passenger door lock receives power to unlock. The door panel switch would always beep, since it unlocks all the doors with one push.

CORRECT!! (If you added a second Beeper with a different tone for unlock you could add it to the passenger side or drivers side. Depending if you wanted a single or double beep for unlock.)

If I remember right the wires are under the kick panel on the passenger side (high -next to the door.).

My 08 Taco isn't wired the same way at the fuse block behind the coin tray, I didn't see the Blue/Pink wire on any connector. I did find it in the bundle coming out from the top of the kick panel. Same colors as in the pic. Same wire, works the same way, but isn't found in the same place. Great mod, cheap, and it works!

If it makes noise and your doors still lock I would say its OK.

Any sound clips with the piezo you used?

I really wanted the camry piezo sound but I could never get it to work even after I got one from the dealer.

I remember reading something like the Toyota piezo's are emitting a frequency, almost like a speaker, and the driver is not built into the piezo.
