What are you tapping for a power source to trip the relay? The accessory circuit should put out enough power to flip the relay and it has power only when the key is turned. That power should go to the energizing coil. The power for the buzzer should come from through the relay with the ground side of the buzzer connected to chassis ground. It should also be a Normally Closed relay. You want it to disable the buzzer's power path when the key is turned on.

There are two types of relays: normally open and normally closed. Make sure it's a normally closed relay. Normally open relays have a disrupted path when no power is connected to the coil. This is the type that is usually used with off-road lights (turning on my driving lights energizes the coil which allows me to use my off-road lights). Normally closed relay's have a path for power when no power is applied to the coil.

The $7.50 Piezoelectric Buzzer gave up the ghost already after 2 weeks. I'm going to try using a 12V backup alarm instead. You get what you pay for...

The 12 volts isn't on very long, just long enough to pop the door locks...so I'm not sure if a pulsating buzzer will work.
