will this work on an 08? i took out the coin storage tray to get to the harnesses and the wiring was different. same harnesses but different wires in different locations and no blue-red to be found. has anyone figured out which wire on the 08?

    thanks, jeff

My 07 setup is pictured here. I did not have the blue/pink wire going to the fuse box. I found mine in the wire bundle behind the kick panel. It's probably where yours is.

This is an awesome thread by the way... thank you for steering us in the right direction.

Unfortunately my fuse box was different than the one in the pictures at the start of this tread ( I have an 07 TRD ) so I had to do some monkeying around to find the blue with Pink wire... I managed to tap into it on the right kick plate. It's very easy to find there... also there's a bare plug/grommet on the right side of the firewall which gives you access to the inside of the cab. Pull that plug, poke through the material with a pick or screwdriver then fish your wire through.

Once you have your location for the buzzer, cut that length of wire... drill a hole in the rubber plug then fish our wire through from the inside out... grommet goes back in easily and off you go to hooking up your beeper.

I used the beeper recommended at the start of the thread, grounded to the body and away you go.. beep beep on Lock... Awesome.

I love this thing... I must have locked and unlocked it about 40 times... grinned every time.

Now I know for sure the damn thing is locked!

Here is a diagram of a relay switch. It should work just fine to disable the beep when the ignition is on. You will just need to grab a 12v power source that turns on with your ignition. Make sure you connect it to the leg that opens the coil on the relay.

Here you go. This is the $10 jobber from radio shack.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmM3_H4Jo3Y

You can hear it's not exactly the same every time. it seems to pick up where ever it left off in the cycle last time. By the way, you can't tell from the vid, but this thing is insanely loud. I'd originally planned to mount it in/near the grill so it could project, but after hooking it up it was clear that there was no need for that. I'm now looking for a way to attenuate it a bit - maybe a trojan magnum? lol

Thanks, OP for the write up! great job.
