My truck starts beeping every couple of minutes just sitting in the driveway ever since it turned cold. It also continues a beep every couple of minutes even after starting and going down the road. It eventual quits after about 20 minutes of driving. Any ideas why my truck is beeping? Freeze alarm? Low air pressure? I know BMW has this feature.

P.S. my low air pressure alarm lit up also.

maybe it's the seat belt nagging beep because it thinks your sitting in there without your belt buckled? Or maybe you have something heavy on the passenger seat and it think you have a passenger who is unbuckled?

Does the TPMS beep if activated in the 14's ?

The TPMS will go off fairly easily in cold weather because the pressure in the tires can drop below your initial set point

    Thanks guys
I am going to try and inflate tires up and see if that cures the alarm/beep. Not sure why it would set off alarm with out truck running. Hmm?
As I try to remember, I think beeping was happening before TPSM lit up. TPSM has always a been problem with Toyota. Why can't you set your own limits? My Hummer was changeable, not easy, but could be done. You also could de-activate the alarm completely.

Just put on winter tires on my '14 and decided to keep the TPMS in my summer set only. Can confirm that there is no beep sounds related to the TPMS being set off in the truck.... just the light on the dash.

That's the way it works on my '07, but wasn't sure about '14s.

BTW I just refer to the light as the "good traction indicator" in Winter. ;)
    hmmm ...

Aired tires up last night and no more alarm/beep, but it was above freezing this morning. I will post again when temps drop down below freezing.

The beeping is back as soon as the temperature dropped. It beeps with key out of the ignition, weird?? I think it may be a freeze alarm like the BMW's have.

Freeze alarm? Haven't had my truck through a full winter yet, but have had several mornings where it's been down below 5F. Haven't had any of the things you're describing here. Doesn't sound normal to me.

I have a 2014 and also live in NC now, last winter I had the truck in Chicago at -30F and it did not beep and my TPS never came on - it has to be something else, no such thing as freeze alarm on our trucks.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm system?

It's was below 0 here in Northern Montana for about 13 days in November and I never heard a beep. I don't think my Tacoma has a 'freeze alarm' If it did, it would be going off nonstop for 6 months out of the year.

No aftermarket alarms, no wired in accessories. I am grasping at straws for a cause. I checked door sensors and even restarted truck and did not help. The alarm quits after about 20 minutes of run time. Strange?? My truck came from Florida if that makes a difference?? Not ever going to dealer unless motor falls out, so please don't suggest, it is also a 40 mile trip, so that's not going to happen.
Going to check air bag passenger seat switch, noticed it said air bag this morning like someone was sitting there, should have been off.

Do the 2014's have the airbag off key switch? If so you could try turning that off and see if it goes away. :notsure: This is a weird one ... and even weirder that no one has piped up with the same problem.

Is it maybe something that's in the truck and not truck related, like for example something that is low on battery and starts to peep? Something that fell between/under the seats??

Even when your truck is still under warranty? That isn't too intelligent.

You may loathe dealerships but if it is free to fix something that is faulty then I would suggest taking it to a dealership. 40 miles is nothing.

Try buckling the passenger seat belt and see if it goes away...
