Steering wheels radio controls not working after installing aftermarket radio

Hi All,

Installed an Alpine headunit and the PAC SWI Adapter. I can't get the steering controls to work nor is the buttons on the steering wheel illuminating anymore. Anyone know which wire I need to look for on the wiring harness to get this working?

Bought my truck with a kenwood double din in it and the steering controls don't work as well. I'm curious to why never really researched or got my fingers dirty but since it's brought up Ill sub

 

They can be made to work. I just had an Alpine X008U installed, and the Alpine kit comes with an interface for the steering wheel controls. All work exactly as they did with the stock stereo. I would look at how the SW-1 is programmed.

 

You need this to make it work: PAC SWI Adapter.

BTW does your steering wheel controls still light up when your headlights are on?

 

No they don't light up

 

I've programmed the PAC several times with no luck. Gave up for a while and just recently noticed that my steering controls don't even light up when I have my headlights on. So now I am thinking that I may have missed a wire on the back of the HU harness and/or factory harness. Does you lights work on your steering wheel controls?
