has anyone ever made a thread where folks post the real 0-60 times of their truck, by the year, body style, motor size, transmission type, and the oem package they have, etc?

just curious because if you read around on the net, people report 0-60 times from 5.9secs all the way to the unbelievable 9.8???? (i mean really, hauling a yatch maybe, lol!) on stock 2nd gen tacomas.

not being bias, it seems the older 2ng gen tacomas people report lower times, but i would really be interested in some sort of real world data.

like why does the 2005 list 245-hp, 2006 to 2014 lists 236-hp? both supposed to be the same motor right?

I think some motors were slightly different, like the 1GR in the 4runner has like 280ish. I also know Toyota states more power with 91+ octane vs 87

The new runners have a different engine than our trucks which gives it that extra horsepower up to 270<

Idk, my 07 v6 xle Camry torches most mustangs; but my 07 tacoma has even more get up and go which is surprising to me. It leaves my Camry in the dust, ask my wife.

6.9 was clocked in my X-runner on non OEM rubber. There may have been a quicker time to be had but I wasn't looking to power shift and grenade the trans. 14.9 in the 1/4. The truck was and still is stock engine wise.

They changed the SAE horsepower numbers sometime around 2005. So they make the same horsepower they are just measured differently.

These aren't sports cars so who cares. Of course my last two 4.0/auto trucks are way quicker than my first 05 with a 2.7/5speed. I think my truck has plenty of sack. It's actually noticeably quicker than my BMW. But of course that's an 89.

Yup... I'm in no hurry to get anywhere these days. If I owned a Ferrari I might be interested in 0-60 but unfortunately I don't :(

There are two different 1GR engines, a single VVTI and a dual. I know my truck has a single, and four runners have dual.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
9 seconds empty, 15 seconds loaded down with 400lbs of dogs and one other passenger in the cab. Amazing what weight does to performance! I only did it those two times just to see, never again. Heavy acceleration is very hard on the transmission and drivelines. Only time I need to get on it is to pass a slow driver on the highway. Rest of the time it rarely peeks over 2200 rpms.

Especially with gasoline engines... Indeed I noticed that compared to my Toyota Land cruiser Prado (Turbo Diesel) which even with weight added, the performance doesn't drop like the tacoma... Maybe because of the Torque at lower RPM?

Yeah, my Powerstroke is like that too, weight doesn't seem to phase it. They just have that low end grunt.
