    OP, if you do decide to fix the holes yourself:

    1. Trim off the sharp (protruding) plastic first.
    2. Punch masking tape with a hole punch and stick over holes.
    3. Fill holes flat with exterior paintable caulk. Caulk may shrink and need 2nd coat.
    4. Remove tape and apply touch up paint.

    Came out great on mine.

    That is the C5 variant that had the insert, that changed in 05 with the C6..The dealer provides a mount that uses something akin to double sided tape. It falls off after a couple hundred miles:)

    I'm in NJ and spoke to dealer before the truck arrived. Told them I had special brackets for the front plate and do not drill the front holes. Picked up my truck Monday and thankfully she was hole free.

    Yeah, I've asked for every car I have owned. Always try to find alternative mounting options. Hate drilling holes of I dont't have too.
