I have a set of steel rims and I'm debating whether or not to swap them with my stock OR wheels. Tires are BFG AT KO2 265/75/16

    What do u guys think?

I'd consider something like a gunmetal or bronze or gold paint for yours. Being a black truck I'm not convinced more black is a good look.

motionridr8's build is a pretty good example of a truck looking good with gunmetal OE wheels. They're the 17" sports, but I think the 16" ORs you have would look just as good

I did a photoshop with an overexposed image of a steelie and it came out this blueish color which didn't look terrible, you can kinda see it in the version i posted. I do like the idea of adding some contrast on the steelies with maybe a dark grey/anthracite-ish however I'm not interested in painting the OR's. Thanks snowman. :)

I'd keep the steel rims for winter and salty roads.
You might also justify them if you get a lot of curb rash or rock dents on your aluminum rims.
One would like to think steel rims say a lot about how someone uses their truck.
They're heavier and not as pretty as aluminum rims.

I assumed if you were going steel you'd be going black steel which quite frankly looks weak without a truck that's really made to put such a cheap rim through abuse. Only way I run a steel wheel is with beadlocks, otherwise it just ends up looking like you bought 4 craigslist spares and threw them on lol

I voted OR, I am just not a fan of steelies unless you are doing it for a practical use.

It's funny, I've been having the exact same debate myself. I have a set of OR wheels with winter tires and I keep going back and forth if I want to keep them.

I think the steel wheels look great when they're completely shiny and the tire is shiny, but I wonder if it would just look meh otherwise. I think if you went white letters out, it would change the dynamic and those black steelies would look great.

Throw your spare on the truck and then 'shop out the white letters if you want to get an idea of how the truck looks.

I agree. I'm having the tireshop put my white letters out on the OR's this weekend before I commit to anything. I think if I did do the steelies I'd paint them nicely and try to keep everything shiny. Thanks.

Steel. I looked for FJ steelies for a long time before picking up FJ TTs. That expedition portal link has a lot of great pics. I look at if from time to time still even though I'm no longer looking for steels.
