been lurking, looking at a new taco. It's an 09 base model AC 4x4 with 5 speed.

    Was quoted at about 19,500.

I'm thinking about possibly waiting till the end of the summer to get an 09 leftover.

    What do you guys think?

yep i've got them fighting over me, but after the summer i'll easily be able to do a $10k down payment vs the $5k i'd be able to do now. I also figure I can get it a few bucks cheaper once they start clearing them out. or at least get the same deal on a 2010 model

Only thing I could warn you about is that by the end of the summer they've stopped making the current years model, and are on to next years. So the pickns can get kinda slim if you have something very specific in mind (ie, you might have to compromise on the color or options). I was shopping last summer, and no body had any base models except in white... which is my least favorite color. Everything else was out of my price range, so I ended up getting an '09. Could be different in with the current economy, and the stock that the dealers in your area keep, but it's something to consider anyway.

yea its a tough call. Although if I were to buy now I'd only have 5k to put down on the truck whereas after the summer I'll have 10k to put down. it'd be nice to $150 payments instead of $300.

Insurance for me from geico is $160 per month.

You might want to take the loan now that the percentage rates are as low as they're going to get... Just a thought and welcome aboard!

I got my '08 when the '09s arrived and there were also rebate options (august 2008), I say you wait and save your money and let it go toward the down payment.

I'd wait until I had the larger downpayment. The interest rates do not have as much effect on your payment as how much you borrow does. If you keep the payments high when you do buy the truck later this year you can pay it off in a shorter period and save even more interest on your purchase.
