    Hey Folks,

I'm in the market for a topper for my '12 double cab, long bed and am looking at Leer or SnugTop. However, my local dealer suggested Century Caps...say they come off the same line as Leer, but no mention of pricing. They do look the same and in fact, the same sales guy is on both websites and some of the same footage is used between the two brands.

Of these what would you all recommend?

    A.R.E. - personally don't like them
Leer - nice options, don't know if the "locker" is useful or waste of money
Century - looks identical to Leer
SnugTops - heard horror stories about their quality, but local deal swears they are top notch and they stand by their product

    Thanks,

    12Tac

I have a LEER 100XR on my DCSB and love it. Got it a couple months ago. We have had a lot of rain the last week where I live so it was a good leak test, no leaks at all.

I bought a Snugtop rebel based on lots of online research ... couldn't be happier with the build quality and install. A bit more expensive, but I didn't find any "horror stories" at all.

I got mine from Aerosuds NW of Denver (even though I live in the Midwest).

Here in Wisconsin, there is a company called Lakeland. I have had a couple Lakeland toppers on previous trucks. They are much cheaper than Leer and ARE but you don't get all the bells and whistles. I priced one out for my 2014 reg cab Tacoma and it came out to $1069 plus sales tax. Think I am going that route in the spring.

I am most pleased with my SnugTop. I looked at Leer and ARE I think and SnugTop was the best in my opinion.

I got it at Truck Builders LLC on Highway 99 in Lynnwood, Washington. I highly recommend them.
