    Hi all:

I purchased G1W dash cam a few months back, and will hopefully get around to installing it this weekend. I'm thinking about trying to hardwire it into the wiring located in the overhead map light area, since there should be some available hots in there. Has anyone successfully done this?

    Thanks in advance!

I would recommend using an add a circuit and running a new wire from the fuse panel under the dash. Much safer way to add dedicated power for a dashcam, and fairly easy to do.
