When using scan gauge my trans temp goes from 30 degrees to 115 -130 range with-in minutes. Is this correct? Tia

sounds about right. The torque converter heats things up pretty quick.

Ya sounds pretty normal, mine is usually at 60 or so to start then warms quickly, remember the atf cooler is in the radiator so might actually heat the fluid in the beginning.

I've tried to program my ScanGuage 11 for transmission temperature about 7 times and no success. Anybody in San Diego willing to do for me?

I added another 3/4 quart and finally got a stream to come out of the overflow on the transmission pan. I was getting nervous because it seemed like I was maybe overfilling the transmission but I started to get a stream then trickle and was relieved. Thanks again for the answers about how fast the scan gauge was going up.

That too. You will usually see higher temps at the torque output just by nature of where the sensor is. Though if you are cruising on the highway in 5th lockup, pan and torque output should be the same or damn close.

so what do most people monitor ? I'm pretty sure I'm reading the TC temp, its normally pretty good but once climbing a very steep winding grade it peaked at 210 or 215 for about 20 seconds. No trailers just camping gear, maybe 500 lbs.

I have the tow package with extra cooler. I'm thinking the pan temp would have been lower, and as long as that's under 200 its ideal correct ?

you will want to monitor trans pan temps... torque out is a nice reading but its would be like monitor engine coolant temp directly above a cylinder in a hot spot. Not accurate of the entire system.

My Scanguage was updated about 1 year ago and the software supports the transmission temperature. I have a copy of the input codes but cant get it in correctly.

Not those exact codes. I did have both pan and convertor temps on my '06 working up until 2 weeks ago and I thought I would be smart and change the names to PAN and TRQ. Well I screwed that up and did it with the truck not running and seems I have corrupted the files and they quit working. So I have now only the pan working with the first option from the website. Still trying to find out what code I used to get the torque convertor numbers last time. Oh and the way I got past the corrupted files is that I did have my codes in the Xgauge slot of 0 and 1. I could not get them to work with anything at all. So I went to Xgauge slot number 2 and the first code worked just fine for the pan. Like it did before. But that is how I found your post, doing some searching trying to find codes for the torque convertor. I do know that the code that I was using before was not for the 05-11 trucks. But it worked and worked well. You could watch the torque convertor build heat going up a hill and slowly warm the pan up, then level out and lock up the convertor and things come back down. So I know I was getting the right sensor. And I loved it. I am on my second trans due to me not monitoring my temps while towing and now I tow more than rated so I watch it close. I will let you know if I ever find the right code again for the convertor. But damn happy I got the pan to at least work since hunting season opens Saturday and I don't have time to send it in and have them fix it and update to the newest firmware. By the way I have 4.13 just for reference.

Got these to work last night on my 2006. Wanna trade codes for a SideRide? LOL Really like that product. Just can't part with my shell. But may have to go to a Softopper if I can't find a 4 place rack I can trust. Then I can carry two on the Kuat and one on each side of the truck bed when it is the whole family. Cheers.

But here are the codes I got to work. Found them on another thread that they worked on an 08 and I just changed the names to make it more clear. Make sure the truck is running when you program them in.
