clunk noise

I just did the bilsteins 5100 and i get a lil bit of a clunk when i go from reverse into drive or drive to reverse. other than that when im driving over bumps or anything else i dont hear it. only from forward to reverse or vise versa. Someone told me it may be my rotors shifting and could be normal maybe?

yes i am following that even posted on there but i hate jumping on someone eleses thread. Plus i think this may be a different noise. been checking everything. and thats why im thinking its brakes or rotors. can rotors shift forward and back just enough to make the noise?

Sounds like more of a driveshaft issue. Or transmission mount - might be a TSB for that?
Check for broken leaf springs also.
The brake rotors can't shift since they are held in place by wheel and lugnuts...

only happens when braking. and it will only happen when going in reverse and hitting the brake or when u put back in drive and hit the brake and it will do it. but if ur going in drive normally it wont do it. Like multiple stops it wont.. I also heard something about brake pad shifting?

ok by doing research i think it may be the brakes. been told now that taco's have some play in there and they will make a noise. I hope its this. It wasnt doing this before we did the struts

Is this something to be concerned about? I can deal with a random clunk if it's nothing more than a noise. I've got it in my 2012. I can feel it slightly in the floorboard, but I always thought it was coming from somewhere in the drive train. Mine happens when backing out of a spot, and you hear it right after moving forward from putting it in drive.

I had the Tacoma for 2 weeks and it's happened only 3 times that I can remember.
