This would be the hilux . Toyota said this time the U.S. tacoma would be more of a hilux but the styling I bet will still be very very different as usual, so this spy shot doesn't really tell us anything for what we'll get in the US. Traditionally the hilux styling had been pretty mellow since its for a global market while the tacoma is specialized, styling wise and so far engineering wise, for the us market. Now supposedly engineering wise they're bridging the gap, hopefully but also hopefully they do hive us thebisuall better styling for us.... The cake aNd eat it to type deal.

I agree, it looks like the bastard child of the Sienna, Highlander and updated Tundra.

I said the same about the new Tundra when they redesigned it a year ago, hated the big, wide and cheesy grill. Excessive chrome everywhere, even disliked the embossed "Tundra" on the tailgate, but admit that I've grown to like it.

I wouldn't be surprised though if Toyota has decided to take a more global platform/ design sharing stand with this, like many other manufactures are doing now to save money.

Prior Hilux's have had a very primitive, more utilitarian look than the 1st & 2nd gen Tacoma we've got in the US. This truck in the spy photos has a very USDM design theme to it by comparison.

I honestly think trucks are looking more car-like...or SUV-like with the swept front ends and contours into the bed. I'll stick with my '14 Thank You!
