It looks like you only have about an inch of clearance now. Probably gonna hit hard over small bumps now.

Get some fiberglass fenders man. I have 37's, this is metal to metal no bumps installed and coilovers removed.

Ok them stops work good around town. Same as stock. Got to get out on the trails. My thinking is these Poly bump stops are a little softer than stock and will compress a bit more before bottoming hard.
Fiber glass fenders? I have seen plenty of PreRunners out in the desert driving around with there glass fenders falling off. They look great but dont seem to take a beating very good like steel.

They are tougher than they look, I've smeared mine on rocks and trees and they bounce back. Don't dent either. The reason I said you should get them is because you will be able to stuff your tires. You can also cut your flares and clearance the stock fenders. Up to you, if you like less wheel travel and capability than a stock tacoma that's all you man.

Potential issue is that the impact will be transferred into a way smaller area of your improvised bumper base.

The improvised bumper base might have a greater propensity to bend whatever it's bolted to. True?

As an analogy, if someone pushes your shoulder with their flat hand, doesn't that hurt less than if they give you the same push with their finger?

$150 I think? They were used though. Dura flex makes some super tough ones, search for them
