Does anyone have any experience with one locker VS another? I'm leaning towards the Lockright.

Actually, I would've ordered it already if I knew what part number it is. I think it's 1615-LR but want to call to verify prior to ordering.

EDIT: Just stumbled across the Powertrax No Slip. Now I'm leaning towards this. I'm going to call tomorrow and see what they say.

Do some research on Aussie Locker.

I don't have any experience, but they get great reviews.

Well, I just bit the bullet and ordered the No Slip. We'll see how it goes I guess...

Now, I need to find a tutorial on the install. I thought I saw one on here somewhere. Can't find it now, of course.

Hey, thank you. Nothing No Slip specific, but maybe I can learn something reading through a few of those threads.

Keep us updated on the install and how it performs. I was looking at ordering the exact same locker here soon.

Fixed.... that aint no lsd, thats a locker, gonna produce some interesting driving characteristics thats for sure

And yes you are right, as a matter of fact, with the rear locked, unless you engage atrac (which only works at under 5mph and only on the front axle with the rear locked) you have ZERO traction aids, thats no abs, no traction control, no VSC.

Its actually how i fool my truck into turning off all traction aids, is to make the computer think the rear is locked when its not, in case i find myself wanting to fuck around or something.

I should also Note that I just bought 4 new, studded, Firestone Winter force snow tires. I'm thinking this will help a lot with plowing, or dliding on a grade if the tires spin. By keeping the tires from slipping, or spinning,
    To begin with, of course.

    We'll see...

I'm looking to add a locker within a few months. Budget is around $500. I have looked online but I can't find many actual reviews here on TW, a locker database sure would be nice. Can you lend me some of your research and suggest a locker, OP? I am looking for one that won't engage on the road to cause tire wear. Some say they are always locked but allow the tires to rotate at different speeds and I don't know how effective that is.

I didn't do a bunch of research. I knew I didn't want a LSD, so I didn't look into those. I felt that the ARB air locker was overkill and too much money, so I didn't Look into those.

That left a lunchbox style locker. The Powertrax No Slip promises the drivability of an open diff with traction of a locker. So I figured I'd give it a shot...

I seriously doubt that it'll be unnoticeable while driving around town and such, but we'll see. Either way, I really don't care. If it locks and does what it's supposed to do when a locker is needed I'll be happy.

As far as making a suggestion of what to buy. I decided on this one. For me, the No Slip was the one to buy. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to throw it in this weekend. I'll let you know if I change my mind! ;)
