So I had the blower motor "chirping" for a couple of months, but honestly it didn't bother me too much. Today the blower motor died. I unplugged it...plugged it back in...gave it a good whack, and it works for now. I can tell it will continue to die, though.

...so since this is such an issue with the OEM Tacoma blower motor, does anyone have a suggestion for an after market blower that doesn't repeat the same issues?

    Thanks

...for instance Rock Auto has a range of prices, but I'm not really sure if one is better than another

I have the same problem with my old truck. Replaced the motor a few months ago with aftermarket one...worked for a while and now is stopping again...hitting it sometimes makes it work for a day or several before it quits again...still trying to figure it out...wonder if the balancing screws are the answer??

Since yours is an '07, I am betting that the blower is the old style one. The newer TSB version is better. No chirps for me since I installed it a few years ago. The P/N should be #87103-04043.

Toyota has an updated blower motor. Part number ends in -043, I believe. I put one in at least a year ago and haven't heard a peep.

Arb front bumper, warn winch, All Pro rear bumper, OME up front, OME and All Pro Standard in Back, ARB locker, 34 x 10.5 KO2's, 17" Level 8 Trackers, and fancy single piece driveshaft.
The new one has bearings. Toyota finally got smart and spent an extra nickel. The old one has oil impregnated bushings. So the new one really is an improvement.

The best price I found was at ToyotaOnlineParts.com. $99, plus $16 shipping.
