First off, hello everyone. I am not currently an owner, but certainly intend to be again one of these days. I used to have a little 93 22re 5 speed pickup years back and absolutely loved it. Nostalgia being what it is, I would like to get back behind the wheel of a Toyota.

Things have certainly changed, and not much more drastic than prices. I think I paid $800 for my 93 back in 2005 or 2006. I wanted to run something by the group here and I apologize if this is the wrong area (didn't see one for purchase research or anything).

There are a couple trucks for sale in my area, and one of the lower priced better shape ones is a 2005 standard cab 5 speed 4x4 with 131k on it. The bottom dollar that the seller will take is $10,500 (which is dealer retail book value). The main attraction, which I'm not sure if it should be an attraction or not, is the truck was one of the frame recall vehicles so a large majority of the underside is pretty much brand new.

I'm curious what you all think about the price. I feel like it's pretty steep, but most others out there I've looked at are nearing the same price with none of the new stuff. It will eventually be a daily driver for however long, so I also was curious about the 131k on the engine being an issue.

I'd appreciate any opinions. Here's a link if anyone wants to check it out:

    Thanks

My dash rattled before and after, so thats one thing I cannot blame the recall for. My shifter (blanking terribly on the actual name) rattles between drive and neutral whenever I hit a bump, so I can blame the recall for that. Besides that theres really nothing else wrong.

That's the kind of insight I was looking for. I haven't been sure if a New frame was a good thing or bad thing. Here in Michigan it seems like a New lease on life. Didn't consider post procedure issues

Read through frame replacement threads. I'd say 95% of the people are quite happy. The other 5% just like to bitch and moan.

    10500 isn't terrible.

If you like the truck and price buy it. Don't base your decision on tacoma world.

I appreciate the replies. I don't intend to base my purchase on Tacoma world but that actually gave a decent amount to look for with it

I have an 07 tacoma, had my frame replaced in July, no issues at all.
That looks like a decent truck

I feel like $11k grand is a little steep for an 05 with 131k miles. It's a sharp truck but if you're in no hurry, I'd keep looking.

That's how I've been feeling as well honestly. Just seems like the going rate out here. Michigan eats Toyota's. Most of the older ones I've looked at are rotted
