I'd be curious to see some of the dyno charts you must have from this.

    Check the build thread.
I didn't scrapbook it unfortunately lol

A Tacoma will never be a race truck and I don't do my mods trying to make it one. Just nice to have a little extra "onion" when I do feel the need to throttle it. The whole point for me on getting a tuner was not to increase hp though... it was to get better mpg and better towing modes. Everyone has different goals though.

This has just been my experience and my opinion so far on my newly installed tuner.

Thanks for the input! This is all I was trying to say in that I realize our trucks will not net huge gains like diesels, but an increase in hp/torque + increased mpg + diagnostic tool, now for only $349 on Amazon, I think is a pretty good deal. "DefconBrix" does this tuner have the speedometer recalibration option, also are you running the 40417 model or 40450 model?

Sounds like you made up your mind. Post the results when you get chance and the long term effects when you get the tuner

We are all here shaking our heads and saying no, but he's probably going to do it anyways. It does sound like he has made up his mind.

It's his money, why should it matter :notsure:.

I only wanted to see dyno graphs because IF the tuner can actually move the location of the peak power to a lower RPM it's worth it. For 10 HP on the top end, well, you may as well metaphorically piss in the wind. I'd also be a bit concerned about the other negative things I've heard about Bullydog. They don't have much of a good reputation anywhere it seems.

Honestly I do the same thing sometimes and I have to force myself to listen to reason. Members on here (via PM) can recommend a product all day long and I will still ask a ton of questions about the one I had my mind set on. Once you want something it can take a bit to get you off of it. OP, let us know what happens and if you do have gains, don't expect anybody to believe you without posting a dyno chart. I would not get the tuner but since you want to, get it out of your system.

TRD super charger, URD fuel mods and 2.1 super grip pully, Headers, 2.5" glass pack, Dana 60 front 4 linked, 14bolt rears on chev 63's, 5.38 gears, ARB locker in the front, PSC full hydraulic steering, 18" SAW 2.5" triple rate coils overs, FOA 2.5 air bumps, B&M launch controls, B&M trans cooler, 4 alpine 6X8 type R's amped, Red led rock lights, CBI front and rear bumpers (my design) CBI sliders, 4 riggid dualys front 2 in the rear, custom track bar, ARB snorkle, warn VR8000 winch, Viair 480c twin compressers..
Never say never. two years ago I entered into BD's Dog days dirt drag contest. It was a 500 foot drag. I took second place in it on 35's and 4.88 gears in 4wd. raced against a brand new tundra and won against him. Had a faster time then some of the built diesels as well.

Thing is I didn't build my truck to be a race truck either I just wanted more "onion" to deal with the 44" tires I plan to run. I don't have the speed I used to on 35's but I still can burn 40" MTR stickies so that's good enough for me. Like said before save for the big boy mods.

Rctoy, where do you wheel your Toyota? I'm in Pocatello too and all I see is jeeps. Also, glad I read this thread. Was about to pull the trigger on the 40417 tuner but now I'm having second thoughts. Looking to improve my mileage from the 17 highway it gets now and I've seen many people say they get a 2 mpg from the tuner.
