The oil light represents oil pressure, not volume.

According to the the pic, I don't see how any water would enter the air intake. I would certainly change the 2 diff fluids and the TX case. Their breathers were underwater.

Good luck. I doubt you killed it for good. That sucks for a fairly new truck.

If it is toast I think insurance should cover it.

Yes, they typically do, but you'll most likely be shopping for another ins. company afterwards.

Does everyone really think water got in the engine from that pic? If so, then that is crazy!

Check for an exhaust restriction. You say it dies when you try to go over 45 and that makes me think it may have something in the muffler.

If that's as deep as it got in that pic, then no way did you submerge the air intake in the fender. Might have splashed enough in there to make it stall, but no way hydro locked. Have had mine WAY deeper several times, like flooding the interior up to the bottom of the passenger seat. Keep cranking that thing.

I swamped mine pretty good this year. But didn't shut it down i was deep. I could reach out the window and touch water. I don't know why I left it run. I guess I was hoping I could get out myself. Needless to say i was pulled out and 4 days later I figured I would check the air filter and it was packed solid full of mud. Needless to say I try not to be the lead vehicle now. I don't know how I didn't kill it.

If it's running and the tail pipe is under water, always leave it running.

This depends on the insurance policy. Many insurance policies have disclaimers that state if the vehicle damage occured while racing or offroading then damaged won't be covered.

OP....just curious...since no one else asked.. Why would you ever think it would be a good idea to drive into that much water and mud?

Especially on such a recently purchased vehicle.
