I tried to search Ham radio setups but TW didnt pop anything up. I was wondering what setups people have and what parts they are using? Pics would greatly help.

In our area most are using Yaesu (FT 60 Hand Helds and some Mobile units). They are reliable units, but the main reason we use them is the folks who run the 805 (El Dorado County / Rubicon Net) have all the stuff to pre-program the Yaseu's with the local channels including emergency services etc. The best bet is to check with a local 4wd group and see what they are using so you have some support for programming and such. If you just want a cheap radio there are some Chinese knock-off's of the Yaseau's that actually seem to work OK and are good for an extra radio. There are probably several 100 FT 60's in our area with almost no issues reported. We have been using them for several years now.
