Hey Newb here, just stared looking at Tacoma's, my question is what is the best option package for model year 2009 or 2010.
I want cloth interior, V6, off road package, power windows, locks etc. I plan to off road/overland it.

    Thanks

So if I plan to lift it 3", and add bigger tires, new front bumper with winch, is it still the best choice? Also I did notice there is a long bed version, 12" more in length I think, is that beneficial???

    Thanks for the input

Get the 4 door TRD off-road. Its the best-seller, and the most utility.
Lifting with big tires creates issues with vibrations, parts wearing out faster, lower mpg.
The front bumper sucks, and a plate bumper with a winch is where I would start. Try it with that first, and see if you want the expense and negatives of a lift.

You can buy a short bed and live with regret for the rest of your miserable life... Or you could buy a long bed and enjoy life and attract unlimited female attention... Your choice

FYI , if you get the AC TRD Offroad , you'll get the offroad package and a long bed

What's the point of a short bed? Isn't it like have a 4 door car with an open trunk? Heck, even the "long bed" needs the tailgate down to fit a 4x8 sheet of ply or drywall. How'd that work with a short bed? lol Let alone hauling a ATV or motorcycle...

The length of my bed always pleases the most important person... Me! I could barely get a DCSB, much less find a deal, much less get a good trade in price, much less get a color I would accept and options and unnecessary dealer bling! The most important question is if you want 2015 or 2016. Rumors are saying new engines, transmissions, and an obvious face lift. I went with the proven 2015. 8 years from now I may look for the next great thing. DCLB seem very rare. Also they only have an auto trans if you wanted the manual option. The 2015 models will dry up soon I imagine. FWIW

The shortbed has the same turning radius as the AC , so better on tight trails than the longer wheelbase DCLB
