This setup uses the rear view miror relocation bracket with ram ball mount. I upgraded the single ram ball to a dual. Got the go pro ball mount.

Modified a Nokia Wireless Car Charger Phone Cradle. Unscrewed the stock suction sticky mount. Grabbed one of the 1/4 20 threaded Ram Balls. Didn't need it, but I used a DIE to properly thread the plastic nub on the cell phone mount. A heat gun would have been sufficient just to make it maliable. As it was, the ball almost screwed on fine. Just a little back and forth.

The other mod I did to the charger/holder was to use the heat gun and bend the positioning nub flat to accommodate my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Just ran the wire though the headliner/ a Pilar/ dash.

Best setup so far. Out of the way, yet visable. Charges, holds it secure.

After thoughts' - decided I will most likely go back to a single ball mount. Eliminating the second articulating arm. In its place, getting one of the shorter 2"-3" versions. Since I will still need a second ball, going to replace one if the articulating arms adjustment screws with a threaded Ram ball. End position will be directly behind the go pro.

Will also be changing the go pro mount case back to the regular non waterproof version. Then running another USB wire for charging.

I feel one of the most important questions not asked yet is what cell phone. In knowing that would help determine the appropriate accessories

    Yes
Not the most secure but does fine on road. A CB antenna mounting bracket with some strategically placed foam stuck right in the CD slot. Works for me and didn't cost anything.

no drilling, just a piece of high strength double sided tape. a small magnetic ring attaches to your phone or phone case the same way.

I built this from strap aluminum and mounted a holster type holder to it. Cord runs into center console to an "always on" plug I installed.
