I have been wrestling with a faulty transfer case activation motor for some time now. It only works occasionally. Need a new one but I'm not prepared to spend the 2 thousand dollars the stealer wants to replace it especially given the fact I just spent 600 replacing the front diff motor,

I have removed it and cleaned the brushes, re greased the contacts etc but still no reliability. Have read many posts about similar issues but I am unable to find anything relating to a swap. No more electric motor and no more problem

My truck has a shifter with a button on the side that activates the electric motor on the case. I would prefer to swap in a case that is manually shifted. Apparently it will bolt up but will it do the job and still operate the automatic diff motor? Any help advice much appreciated.

    Thanks
