Who has 295/75r16?

I know a lot of guys have 285s but is anyone running 295s? How much more trimming is needed?

 

Couple guys are it's not much more possibly cab mount chop depends on what you are doing with the truck I'll be throwing 295s on after my 285's wear out

 

You'd probably need to trim an extra 10mm...

With 295s would you guys recommend 5" of backspacing? 8.5" wheel width?

Also, what is the best lift for these trucks?

You need 4.5 back spacing or lower....3in lift is most common

 

Can't help you with the trimming as I have a 4R, but Hankook makes their MT in this size, great tire.

 

Oh yeah, on a 16x8 with 3.5 BS.

 

For what it's worth, I have a 2.5" lift and it's now a mall crawler as there is nowhere to off road around here.

 

There's always places to wheel. Just go down little dirt roads. Turn around at no trespassing signs. You'll find something sooner or later. Backspacing needs to be in the 4 - 4.5" range. You'll have to trim once you find a couple of places to flex that suspension on the dirt road that leads to an old quarry or something. Find someone to go with for help when the inevitable stuck happens. Make friends that like to get dirty. Bring recovery gear.
