06 tacoma 6" lift, camburg uca's. Lately I have been hearing a clunk when going over bumps coming from the front driver side wheel area. Figuring it was my steering rack itself needing a new spring and what not, I was also curious to see about my wheel bearings. I grabbed the driver side uca arm and starting pushing back and forth to get the truck to rock and thats when I had felt where the clunking is coming from. The control arm itself is tight on the bolt, but the front of truck end of the bolt has play within the frame itself. Has anyone else experienced this and how am I supposed to fix this?

    Thanks

Sounds like you need new UCA bushings.

ok, the play in the bolt is or is not in the UCA? In the bushing area as suggested or is it loose in the frame where is passes through the shock area?

its where the bolt passes through the shock area on the frame, the bushings are tight and the bolt is moving. But just on the front end of the bolt (front of truck)

I dunno man. Take it apart and check it out.

Either - bushings are shot as I said OR
UCA bolt itself is cracked OR
sleeve the bolt slides through is cracked.

The simplest thing would be the nut came off and the bolt has partly slid itself out. But I figure you'd have noticed that.

You won't know until you take it apart.

Do you jump your truck or hit speed bumps at high speed?

It's just a daily driver. No jumping or high speed hits. Although last year i was in an accident that hit that side but there was no issues after I got my truck back. I installed the uca's after the accident and everthing was ok then.

sorry if reviving an old thread... but i just experienced the same thing on my 17 tacoma after installing my icon UCAs. i retorqued them to 85ft-lbs, then after driving to and from work the clunking was back. UCA's and bushings are brand new, so i doubt its them, clunking goes away when torqued, so i cleaned the bolt off and applied some blue loctite this time. We'll see how it holds up.

Did the Loctite solve your issue?
