    Hey guys,

Been lurking around on here forever and thought I'd finally post something haha.

Been reading alot about wheel spacers and from what I understand, you want a 6x5.5 hubcentric spacer with a 106 inside diameter. If you got 108 you'll need a centering ring and be wary of anything off Ebay.

    Now, I've found these:

    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2pc-TOYOTA-F...yota|Model:Tacoma&hash=item23483e6b96&vxp=mtr

Price is right, I messaged the seller who says they are 106 to 106 ID and there made of 6061 T6 Billet aluminum, CNC machined yada yada.

I know if anyone posts anything on here, it will likely read something like "stick with spidertrax" but I wanted to go a bit wider than that. I'll be running stock Tacoma rims and I don't think 1.25" will be enough to get the stance I want.

Does anyone have any input on these spacers before I buy a set? I've heard nothing but bad from people who've never run ebay spacers, and nothing but good from people who have which makes me wonder if it's just people being over-cautious.

Hope to hear from you guys!

I have the 1.25" spidertrax. I would not trust anything on Ebay since if it brakes..you WILL crash.

OP was asking specifically 1.5" spacers. I have 1.5" spidertax wheel spacers. They just are not hub centric on the wheel side but, on the hub side they are.

Has anyone on the forum ever had one fail? Just curious. All I would need is one failure and I wouldn`t think twice haha.

    RadTaco914,

Have you ever had any of the issues with vibrations etc? Also, will the acorn lug nuts they give you work with the flat face that the stock rims have?

Ive been running ebay spacers on multiple vehicles for years and never had a problem. When they cost half as much as other brands like spidertrax, its hard not to try out the ebay stuff. I have purchased and ran at least 4 sets of 1.5" or 2" spacers on ebay, and I will continue running them until I have a problem one day.

Im sure there are people who have had them fail, but most of the time those failures are caused by improper installation. Surfaces NEED be clean before mounting, Locktite HAS be used, and they also NEED to be torqued properly. So many people have problems with any brand of wheel spacers because they did not install them properly.

This is exactly what I have heard before - the ones who have had ebay spacers have never had issues and love 'em, and those who have never run them say they're terrible.

    This is killing me... haha

    That is nice about spidertrax.

Where are the ebay spacers likely to fail? The lugs or the spacer itself?

I wonder because the spacer itself is the same material machined the same way so it will be more or less identical. My only concern would be the lug itself but even those are rated based on strength and come from a third party manufacturing source I assume? So the only difference (other than the anodizing) that I can see would be the care taken in pressing the lug into the spacer.

Everyone seems to have an opinion, but nobody seems to have any reason behind it :p

Yeah unfortunately I cannot say where there really would be any differences in strength or quality. I would imagine the most common failure point is the studs, and I don't see those ever breaking as long as they are tight. As soon as a lug nut on the spacer or one holding the spacer to the vehicle comes loose, that's when you will have problems, no matter what brand it is. The only real difference I can see is if the machining tolerances for the hubcentric on the ebay ones are not exact causing a vibration at high speeds. This may be less likely to happen with Spidertrax spacers.

I ordered what was supposed to be hub centric 1.5" spacers off eBay as well... And they shook like a drunk fresh out of booze.

Will never do that again. Spidertrax for me.. Or BORA.

Seems like you didn't give much time for input haha..
But personally I'd never trust no name spacers. If I went cheaper than BORA or Spidertrax, Synergy sells some 1.5" for around 80 I think.

Love my spidertraxx, have had them on now for about 8k miles no problems. Only thing I didn't do that c4 recommends is clean the area before hand. Use the RED loctite on the lugs and torque them to 90lbs, drive 50-100 miles and retorque them at 85lbs, if they move at all then drive another 50-100 and try it again at 85lbs. Thats what spidertraxx recommends.
